housekeeping vol. 3

Another week, another Skinnytaste recipe, but this week it’s something new to me! Harissa. Yall. Where have I been. I want to have this stuff in my fridge at all times and put it on all the things. Already dreaming of it on eggs for breakfast tomorrow. This is the recipe I used – served it up over some cilantro lime rice, diced cukes and red onion, a dollop of greek yogurt and a squeeze of lemon. Apparently there are about a billion variations on harissa recipes, and this is the one I want to try next. Love this. “Taking…

Okay, first and most importantly: if you want to feel like a GD wizard in the kitchen this weekend, make these bagels. I made them this week with five common ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now. “How have I had these five ingredients in my kitchen at so many times in the past and never combined them to make bagels before,” I mused to myself in a bagel-induced stupor. currently: july 2017

With July’s end comes the end of our summer hanging in Austin with no travel plans. I feel like we made the most of it this month, with trips to the movie theater, a 65 degree pool, and margaritas inside when it was just too hot to be outside. We’re really looking forward to some fun trips this month, but summer in Austin has been pretty sweet.  Making: My fourth trip to Ikea since we’ve moved. It’s a blessing and a curse to have one twenty miles away.  Cooking: My sister sent me this recipe for honey sriracha turkey meatballs…
